FAQ & POLICIES

There is potential for injury in the participation of any physical activity. The studio has rules for participation and conduct that must be followed.

WHAT TO WEAR

  • Hair must be pulled back from the face in all classes (bun required for ballet, pointe, lyrical and modern)
  • Proper dance wardrobe must be worn.
  • No Jeans are allowed in any dance class.
  • Ballet/Pointe: Black leotard, ballet pink tights, pink canvas or leather ballet slippers (age 3-6), pink canvas ballet slippers (age 7+)
  • Jazz: Dance wear, dance slippers or Oxfords (black age 3-6, beige age 7+)
  • Tap: Dance wear, black tap shoes.
  • Hip Hop: Dance wear, black running shoes (for indoor use only).
  • Musical Theatre: Dance wear or track pants, fitted top, beige jazz shoes.
  • Acro: Dancewear, no shoes
  • Modern: Dancewear, no shoes
  • Lyrical: Dancewear, canvas half sole shoe (SoDanca BA41)

Fascination Dance Studio is not responsible for stolen or lost articles. Please label your child’s clothing and footwear, and do not bring anything valuable to the dance studio.

CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Running, acrobatics (outside of class) and playing are prohibited in the dance studio.
  • Teacher’s supervision is required for anyone using a dance room.
  • No gum chewing.
  • Students will be removed from class for disruptive behaviour and improper dress (teacher’s discretion).
  • No faculty member will entertain phone calls at home.

REFUNDS & FEES

  • Tuition is payable in 8 monthly installments (September-April) with payments taking place by the 15th of the month.
  • Costume payment is due October 30 and half tuition is due by December 15.
  • All balances must be paid in full by April 15, cheques will not be accepted after this date.
  • Payments can be made by cash, cheque, debit, credit card (in person or pre-authorized monthly withdrawal) or e transfer to fascinationdance@bellnet.ca use password dance2020
  • 10% discount off tuition for each additional discipline taken for students and family members
  • No refunds will be given on lessons or costumes.
  • N.S.F. cheques will be charged an additional $15.00.

CANCELLATIONS

Check our Facebook page, tune into 610 CKTB, call the studio answering machine or check the website for class cancellations due to inclement weather. No make up classes will be scheduled.

ATTENDANCE

Attendance is mandatory for the spring production and both technical and dress rehearsal. Any student unable to perform in the spring production must notify the teacher by January 1 and must pull out of the routine. There is no guarantee that family members or students taking more than one class will perform in the same show.

Absentees must be phoned in. Any student who sits out due to illness or injury must have a note from their parent. Any student missing three (3) classes in a row will be dismissed from the class as this is unfair to the group.

VIEWINGS

Parent viewing will take place before Christmas break (subject to change). Details will be given in October.

Solo, duet, trio routines are by invitation only.

PLACEMENT & RETURNING STUDENTS

Students are placed in classes based on their ability which is assessed by the instructor. No changes will be made to class lists.

Returning students must re-register by June 1. Class schedules will be mailed out after labour day.

Classes will not be formed for less than six (6) students.

PLEASE NOTE

Studio memos/bulletins will be communicated via email, so please make sure your updated email address is on file with office.

In case of forced studio closure for any reason, virtual classes will replace live classes
